Transport, termites and chicken

Boda bodas are motorcycle transport and are the cheapest deal in town. Good core muscles help to keep the balance. Today we saw a boda boda carrying a boda boda!

Here is the mutatu. More people make for a good deal too. Drivers are on the right-hand side and they drive on the right-hand side of the road here. There is always another man, as you can see here, on the left - that open seat, who sticks his head out and calls to potential customers.

Here is a termite mound. The inside is a maze of tunnels and air shafts for the colony of workers. We see these all over the place, but this one is quite large. Ted is another colleague who arrived last night. He is a bug expert, so he is quite distracted here in Uganda!

Street chicken actually smells great, but we dare not eat street meat. These guys wanted us to pay for these photos. Sorry, guys, no deal.

I really like this ensemble of trees.

  1. Loving the pics... brings me right back to Kenya; though boda bodas are bicycle taxis in Kenya and motocycle taxis are called piki pikis.
