Kampala

Amid the business in the capital city, we found vendors, traffic, and some curbside industry. Dad will be pleased to see the primary, secondary and tertiary stages of wood production happening domestically in Uganda. Furniture made from hardwoods such as mvule and mahogany is everywhere.








Outside the National Theatre were a number of local craft and textile kiosks for tourists. I was interested in the up-cycling of used plastic bags to make soccer balls and the use of old bottle caps and wire to construct lunch boxes. Ashley and Omar (the JGI Educational Director) are considering these as projects for Roots and Shoots.
