

On the five hour journey here, my fatigue set in, and I was glad to be heading out of the bush for a little while. Here is the best view of Queen Elizabeth Park.

Trees are at a premium for fuel. We saw many people carrying huge loads on their heads and backs.

Deforestation is happening.

Papyrus plants reminded me that I shall teach Grade 7 social studies again next year...those tricky Mesopotamians!

And then there were dusty hills, made worse by vehicle traffic...

and a rock mine with workers of all kinds.

Terraced gardens filled the misty landscape.
